The Power of This Moment

This moment is all we have. Stay in your body in this moment. Stay in your quiet mind inthis moment. Stay emotionally unattached to thoughts in this moment (my big challenge!).

It seems that we have been conditioned to overlook the moment. We look, talk and plan for the future. We relish, regret and remember the past.

How are we in relationship with the only time that is truly ours? Are we distracted? Not feeling deeply, not hearing completely, not fully present.

  1. I ended my class last night with a song entitled "Airborne" by Rain Perry. She talks about being like a butterfly too long in a cocoon and her wings have dried. But it's time for her to release and let go of the past, so she breaks free and even though her wing is torn and her flight is awkward, she's airborne.

I mentioned to my class as we were resting on the floor at the end of this song exactly what you're talking about in your post. We are conditioned to overlook the moment, relishing either getting some in the future or hanging on to something in the past.

Beautiful...the power of this moment. And this moment. And this moment.

    Thank you!
